The Simple Life

The closer you are to nature , the stronger the energy and vibration compare to cities. There are no industries , no pollution, no empty ambitions .The food available is organic , fresh from the ground. The countryside in kenscoff can be a place for spiritual evolvement... our only purpose here on this plane , on planet earth.

Last week end I went to a place called Belot outside of kenscoff , roughly 10 miles. The images I got were okay , but i was not fully happy once i had them on the screen , So this morning i went back to the same spot and spent a bit more time. The image below is what i failed to capture last Saturday .

Life in the Countryside

Pierre Marie of Godet, spent half the day preparing his piece of land for the next harvest in December. He produces potatoes,onions,carrots and leek which he sells to the open market in Kenscoff & Port-Au-Prince. " The harvest a few weeks ago was not that good " he confided to me, " the fertilizer we purchased came from Cuba and it spoiled part of the crop"

Kenscoff - great place for retreat and inspiration

In 1973 a cousin took me to L'Auberge , a very popular hang out in kenscoff at the time . I still can remember being overly exited that such a place existed and  I have been going back ever since .When ever I travel to Haiti , kenscoff is always the first place I visit , it's like a ritual . Up until today , whenever I need to get away from the heat and madness of Port-Au-prince , it's where I go .It will also be my final resting place when I am no longer.I have been also shooting in the area for an exhibit which will be entitled " The kenscoff collection '' . I had an incredible  weekend as usual and these 4 pics below will be added to the collection.( You have been a great source of inspiration M.)

While hiking  I saw sheila ,she had just picked out some parsley in a garden close to her home , she kept  looking back and staring at my cameras... with the help of her family , she agreed to give a quick smile than she was gone.

In a vegetation decorated with pines and eucalyptus, Kenscoff is located about 20 kilometers of Port-Au-Prince. The city enjoys a moderate climate and is located East of the capital. Its many terrace cultivations make a landscape well ordered.
